There has been a church presence in the Muir of Ord, Tarradale and Urray area from around the 16th century, if not before.

Kilchrist Church being the first, followed by Urray West, through ‘The Disruption’ to Urray Free Church and the birth of the United Free Church, now known as Urray East or Urray and Kilchrist Church of Scotland.

William Forbes, the very popular grocer and baker's shop at the north end of the main street. Unfortunately, the business closed in 2010 and, after some time, opened as the Co-operative.

Chapelton Farm

Chapelton Farm on the A862 north of the village. The farm is aqn equestrian centre approved by the British Horse Society.

SGL Technic

Two of the several buildings in the Muir of Ord Industrial Estate occupied by SGL Technic which manufactures carbon fibre components for various industries, and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Muir of Ord Post office

The building was originally built as a post office and over the years it became a bank. Today it is holiday accommodation.

Post office

The building has now been converted into houses and at the end there was also a joiners shed. This was the post office for a short time after the previous building became the village bank.
