William Forbes, the very popular grocer and baker's shop
William Forbes, the very popular grocer and baker's shop at the north end of the main street. Unfortunately, the business closed in 2010 and, after some time, opened as the Co-operative.
Chapelton Farm
Chapelton Farm on the A862 north of the village. The farm is aqn equestrian centre approved by the British Horse Society.
SGL Technic
Two of the several buildings in the Muir of Ord Industrial Estate occupied by SGL Technic which manufactures carbon fibre components for various industries, and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Glen Ord Distillery
Glen Ord Distillery operates on the western side of the village and is one of the few remaining distilleries in the county. [Photo Glen Ord Distillery]
Muir of Ord Post office
The building was originally built as a post office and over the years it became a bank. Today it is holiday accommodation.
Post office
The building has now been converted into houses and at the end there was also a joiners shed. This was the post office for a short time after the previous building became the village bank.

The photos in this album are from the Ross-shire Journal during the 1914-1918 War. Newspaper copies had been deposited with Dingwall Museum but over the years had become rather fragile and were in danger of disintegrating and so it was felt that this valuable record should not be lost.

Alistair Cameron of New South Wales, Australia, is a descendant of the Cameron family of the Ord Arms Hotel. He left this small collection of photographs with the owners of the Ord Arms with specific instructions that they were to stay there. The Sopciety gives thanks to the present owners Stu & Debs Wilson.
