Restoration of the Polish War Monument

The monument was first restored to commemorate the Millennium of Christianity in Poland 866-1966 and was dedicated by the bishop of Aberdeen on 22nd may 1966

In 1987 Ross and Cromarty district council renovated the monument and replanted the garden previously provided by Invergordon town council

The Polish War Monument

This monument was built originally by the Polish soldiers to indicate that a Polish Army camp existed at Invergordon. The original plaque stated this and also expressed their gratitude to the people of Invergordon and area.

It was never intended to be a war memorial...
