Lady Bignold cutting the first sod of the Cromarty and Dingwall railway line (sic) on 13 February 1914
The text at the foot of this photograph refers to Lady Bignold cutting the first sod of the Cromarty and Dingwall railway line (sic) on 13 February 1914. The line was eventually constructed from Muir of Ord to Fortrose but financial restraints due to the First World War did not allow the extension as far as Cromarty to proceed.
