Head of the team who organised the display were Margaret Black (left) and June Munro.

The delicacy of the needlework was remarkable. Local shops also pitched in, loaning models. Victoriana (Alness) also provided flowers, and a team of local ladies worked so hard setting up the displays, making and serving teas. Over £1,300 was raised for church funds.

Christening gowns dating from 1858 were displayed, some next to wedding gowns belonging to the same family.

The photos in this album are from the Ross-shire Journal during the 1914-1918 War. Newspaper copies had been deposited with Dingwall Museum but over the years had become rather fragile and were in danger of disintegrating and so it was felt that this valuable record should not be lost.
