The former Achiltibuie schoolhouse, now community owned, is to be transformed into two affordable homes. In July 2016 the Coigach Community Development Company and the Highlands Small Communities Trust announced that funding of £175,000 had been secured to allow the development to proceed.

Financial support has come from the Scottish Government, Nationwide Foundation, Highland Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

Highlands Small Communities Housing Trust will oversee the development and the future management of the two flats, which will be made available to people in housing need when the renovation is completed.
