The memorial was first restored to commemorate the Millennium of Christianity in Poland 866-1966 and was dedicated by the bishop of Aberdeen on 22nd may 1966
In 1987 Ross and Cromarty district council renovated the monument and replanted the garden previously provided by Invergordon town council
