William Forbes, the very popular grocer and baker's shop at the north end of the main street.  Unfortunately, the business closed in 2010 and, after some time, opened as the Co-operative.

The Forbes Cafe, in a central position in the main street, also closed in 2010.

The Tarradale Hotel, at the junction of the A862 and A832, no longer operates as such.

Alas, neither does 'The Moorings'.

Two of the several buildings in the Muir of Ord Industrial Estate occupied by SGL Technic which manufactures carbon fibre components for various industries, and is one of the largest employers in the area.
