The Russian Arctic Convoy Project was created in Inverasdale Primary following the closure of the school due to falling rolls.

Some time later the opportunity arose to purchase a former butcher's shop in Aultbea to create an exhibition centre.

Loch Ewe was a hive of activity during World War 2 and it was the point of departure for many of the convoys bound for Russia.  A lasting legacy to those who braved Arctic waters under constant threat of attack from enemy aircraft and u-boats is the Museum and Exhibition Centre established oriiginally in the former Inverasdale Primary School and now in a dedicated centre located in Aultbea.
